FAQ

Do I receive prints or digitals?

The basic session price is for digital images and a USB Flash Drive, which contains your final chosen images. There is also an option to purchase more digital images within your gallery. There is an optional print upgrade, for a small additional cost. The prints will be of the same images you have chosen from your gallery.

The prints are outsourced from a professional photo lab, so there will be a few days wait

The Usb will also be posted to you once you make your final choice of desired images.

Is a deposit required?

Yes! There is a £50 deposit required to secure your booking. This amount will be deducted from the total amount of the chosen package upon final payment.

Is the deposit refundable?

No, the deposit is non refundable. If the client is unable to attend the booking date, I require 48hrs notice upon which we can reschedule the booking to a more convenient date, and at no extra cost.

If however, I'm unable to do the shoot due to some unforeseen circumstance, then I will of course refund you.

Only under extreme circumstances will I refund a clients deposit and of course, at my discretion.

Will I have to attend a viewing to choose the images?

No  viewing is necessary. I use my discretion and choose images taken from that shoot. I then edit them and email the online gallery to you, where you choose your images and download the amount of digitals allocated to your package. Extra images can be purchased  through your online gallery for £10 per image.

The gallery will contain 20-25 images approx.  I tend to edit no more than 10  images allocated within your chosen package, which will give you a varied choice

eg 10 images in package you'll receive 20 digital images in your gallery to make your choice from.

FAQ

What's the best age for a Newborn shoot?

Generally from 4 to 14 days old is the best age, after that the baby will be more awake and will not appreciate being posed. However, I do offer Newborn sessions up to 4 weeks.                A baby aged 2-4 weeks will most often dictate the shoot, especially if breastfed, it will definitely take longer, so be prepared.

Why does a Newborn shoot take so long?

I reserve a 3hr max slot for a newborn shoot, because babies will dictate if they want to oblige or not. If a baby is bottle fed, I will have more time before the next feed. However breastfed babies, tend to want to be fed more frequently, also please avoid bringing siblings to the session if they're not to be included, as children become bored and may disrupt the session, which will undoubtedly take longer.

Do you do all poses for Newborn shoots?

I do not do Froggie Pose, as it has been known to  cause hip displatia I also don't do Taco pose or any other pose which will cause discomfort to the baby....I do not or put babies into Buckets.

I try not to handle the baby as much as possible, as I do not wish to cause any disturbance to the newborn.

The baby's comfort and safety is my priority.

What is the best time to book a Maternity Shoot

The best time to book in for a Maternity shoot would be between 28-36 weeks .....the sweet spot being 30-33 weeks. However for for twins I would suggest between 24-32 weeks.

FAQ

Do i Get to view all the images from the session?

No, I take a lot of images during sessions all of which will be similar, maybe just a different  angle, or lighting etc, so I use my discretion as to which images will be suitable.  I then edit them and upload them to your online gallery.

Editing images is extremely time consuming so I

usually edit approx 10 extra (some times more, sometimes less) images for you to choose, which  gives you a varied selection.

For example if your session consists of 10 images, you may receive 20 edited images in your gallery to choose from etc

Cake for Cake Smash

I supply the cake at no extra cost, which I source from a leading Supermarket. however if the child has any food allergies, it will be necessary to bring your own. Please avoid chocolate as it makes too much mess, may stain and just  doesn't look good on the skin.

FAQ

Why am I not allowed to take video's or photos during the session?

There are many valid reasons why I don't allow my clients to film or take photo's during any session.  Here are a few examples as to why:

A. Anyone taking pictures or filming, other than myself can disrupt my workflow, lighting, set up and the outcome I'm trying to create.

B.  It may distract the subject and confuse where and who they should be looking at (especially if a young child).  You've paid me to be the photographer, please  allow me to do my job.

C.  Affect my brand quality eg, clients who may have filmed or taken shots, during the session, often upload in excitement, unedited and poor quality images to their social media platforms, thus many may assume the images to be my work.

D.  If clients take their own shots, they may be less inclined to purchase any of my edited images.

E.  The Session has been artistically created by the photographer, the Set Up/ Backdrops and Props are a heavy investment on their part and are being used by the Photographer (owner) to provide a professional Service to their paying client and are not for the use of  anyone else.

F.  Legal and copyright issues.

Hope this helps and thank you for your understanding.
